A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a series of lock snap burglaries across Oldham and Manchester. He faces charges of burglary, fraud, and theft of a motor vehicle. Oldham, Greater Manchester - A 20-year-old man is behind bars after police linked him to a string of lock-snap burglaries that have rattled neighbourhoods across Oldham and Manchester for months.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of burglary, fraud and theft of a motor vehicle and has been remanded in custody. Detectives say the break-through came after they traced a series of offences in which offenders snap the lock barrel to force entry.
PC Clarke of the Oldham Division said: “This arrest is good news for the local community who have been blighted by this offending over a lengthy period. I hope this provides some reassurance to the community that we are taking action against this type of crime. We are doing all we can by ensuring that we have proactive patrols in hotspot areas across Greater Manchester, but as always, the support of our communities is vital in helping us bring these people to justice and preventing this type of crime.”
