Loving family and laughter are key ingredients to Mohammed and Amna's 70 years of happy marriage
Mohammed Jan (92) and Amna Bi (88) celebrate 70 years of marriage, attributing their happiness to family, friends, healthy habits, and humor.
Mohammed Jan, 92, and Amna Bi, 88, have reached a rare milestone as they celebrate 70 years of marriage in Oldham, where they built their lives after arriving from Kashmir in the 1960s.
The couple, who settled in the Werneth area after working in local cotton mills, began their British journey with a home on Napier Street beside what later became the High Point Hotel. Their first car was a Ford Capri, and they still enjoy fish and chips from Levers - a taste of tradition that has carried through seven decades.
Together they have watched their family grow to include 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, creating a legacy that spans generations in their adopted hometown.
As they mark their platinum anniversary, Mohammed and Amna credit their lasting wellbeing to the love of their family, their circle of friends, healthy eating habits, staying active, and maintaining their sense of humor through the years.
