Kingfisher Learning Trust's latest Annual Ball is a perfect opportunity to support local schools
The Kingfisher Learning Trust has announced its 15th Annual Kingfisher Ball, set for March 29, 2025, at The White Hart in Lydgate. The event aims to raise funds for schools within the Trust, focusing on improving educational experiences for pupils with diverse learning needs. Last year's event raised £16,100 for specialist equipment.
Kingfisher Learning Trust’s marquee fundraiser returns this spring with expanded ambitions, as the 15th Annual Kingfisher Ball will for the first time channel every pound raised to all six schools across the Oldham-based trust.
The gala unfolds Saturday, March 29, 2025, at The White Hart in Lydgate, doors opening at 6:30pm for an evening of fine dining, live entertainment and competitive auctions. Founded in 2016, the trust serves pupils with diverse learning needs through Kingfisher Special School, Medlock Valley Primary, Halcyon Way School, Littlemoor Primary, Blackshaw Lane Primary and Cromwell High in Tameside.
“Every penny raised during the Ball will go towards creating a positive, lasting impact for children across the Trust,” chief operating officer Michael Unsworth said, noting that every campus now needs support. “With all our schools in need of support, this year’s event holds even greater significance.”
Last year’s ball pulled in £16,100, money that bought Acheeva Workstations—specialist equipment that helps children with profound and multiple learning difficulties access lessons. “We saw first-hand the difference this equipment made in our schools, and we’re eager to raise even more this year to continue that kind of life-changing support,” Unsworth added.
Tables remain on open sale with no booking deadline, while businesses can sponsor segments from the pre-dinner reception to the night’s entertainment. Organisers welcome raffle and auction donations, especially “money-can’t-buy” experiences. Long-time supporter Richard Duerr of Duerrs Jam attested, “It’s the best event we go to.” Prospective guests, donors or sponsors should contact [email protected] or via LinkedIn.
