GMP’s CSE Major Incident Team arrest suspect in Rochdale as investigations into non-recent offending ramp up

Greater Manchester Police's CSE Major Incident Team arrested a 38-year-old man in Rochdale on suspicion of raping a girl under 18, as part of Operation Sherwood, which investigates non-recent child sexual exploitation in Oldham between 2011 and 2014. The arrest followed a survivor's disclosure, and 13 suspects have been arrested in the last three months. Two other men were recently arrested in Oldham on similar charges. Assistant Chief Constable Steph Parker emphasized the commitment to justice for survivors and the complexities of the cases. Support services for victims were also highlighted.
