GMP and Trafford Council team up to tackle drug dealing and ASB in Timperley

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) and Trafford Council have collaborated to close a house in Timperley following a drugs warrant, with a three-month closure order issued by Manchester Magistrates’ Court. Four individuals remain on bail for suspected class A drug supply, and a separate case involving a breach of the order has led to a court appearance. The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to combat drug dealing, anti-social behaviour (ASB), and theft in the community.

Trafford Drug House Shut Down After Police Raid

A Timperley property has been sealed for three months after Greater Manchester Police secured a full closure order from Manchester Magistrates’ Court following a drugs warrant executed on 29 May 2025.

The action at Marshfield Road resulted in three men and a woman being released on bail on suspicion of supplying class A drugs. Wayne Keron, 63, of Old Hall Road, Sale, has already been charged with breaching the order and will appear at Manchester & Salford Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

The closure marks the second such order obtained by GMP’s Trafford South Neighbourhood Policing Team and Trafford Community Safety Team this month. A similar warrant executed on 19 May at Haydock Close, Gorse Hill, led to the recovery of class B drugs and cash, with one male arrested and bailed pending further enquiries.

Inspector Colin Dytor stated: “We will continue to tackle the issues that are important to our communities in partnership with Trafford Council. We have a number of tools at our disposal to tackle community crime like drug dealing, ASB and theft including the courts, behaviour orders and house closures, and will use them where appropriate. This action sends a clear message that we will not tolerate people using properties for serious criminal activity.”

Cllr Rose Thompson, Trafford Council’s Executive Member for Communities and Safety, added: “We are pleased to have been able to work together with our partners at Greater Manchester Police to bring this matter to court and restore peace and safety to the area. This is a great example of ward councillors, community safety officers and the police working together to listen to local people and support this neighbourhood.”

The closure order prohibits access to the property by all persons except the named tenant and authorised personnel, including council officers, the landlord, police, and emergency services.
