Global beats set to hit The Vale in new 2025 season

The Vale Unveils Eclectic 2025 Lineup Spanning Blues to Flamenco

The Vale arts centre has announced its first-quarter 2025 program, bringing together returning favorites and international newcomers for a diverse musical journey through blues, flamenco, punk, and New Orleans brass.

Mossley’s own blues legend Kyla Brox kicks off the season on Saturday, January 25, 2025. The daughter of Ashton-born musician Victor Brox, Kyla has earned recognition as “the finest female blues singer of her generation” and will deliver a soulful mix of original songs and covers with her band.

February brings Spain’s flamenco fire to the venue with Ramón Ruiz, Rebecca Ortega, and Natalia Marin presenting “Fuego, Sol y Agua” on Saturday, February 15. Seville-trained guitarist Ramón, a regular BBC Radio 3 guest, will be joined by internationally touring dancer Rebecca and cantaora Natalia, who has performed alongside Spanish greats like José de la Tomasa.

The punk quartet Loose Articles returns on Saturday, February 22, promising their signature “discordant, hypnotic repetition” and politically charged anthems delivered with “fierce, in your face, punk-fuelled attitude.”

March concludes the quarter with Mr Wilson’s Second Liners on Saturday, March 22, supported by Liverpool’s Dogshow. The Second Liners fuse New Orleans brass with 90s Manchester club classics, while Dogshow brings their surreal battery-powered dog trolley and fusion of live techno, jazz, and dance.

Tickets start from £5, with “donate what you can” options available for every event. Programming manager Johnny Clifford described the lineup as “totally eclectic, drawing on sounds from around the globe” and praised the “pure artistry and excellence in musicianship” that unites all performers.
