First Choice Homes Oldham (FCHO) has signed a £15.7 million deal with Vistry Group

First Choice Homes Oldham has sealed a £15.7 million contract with Vistry Group to deliver 101 affordable homes on Rosary Road, Fitton Hill, with 64 being three- and four-bedroom family houses and completion set for late 2027.

First Choice Homes Oldham has struck a £15.7 million contract with Vistry Group to deliver 101 affordable homes on two adjoining plots off Rosary Road in Fitton Hill, marking the housing association’s largest-ever scheme by number of properties.

Work is already under way on the first parcel, the former Fitton Hill Secondary Modern School, where 29 three- and four-bedroom houses will rise. Construction on the second, nearby greenfield site begins this month and will add 72 two- and three-bedroom homes. When the project finishes at the end of 2027, 64 of the 101 properties will be three- or four-bedroom family houses.

Andy Ewart, FCHO executive director of corporate services and deputy chief executive, said:
“This major new investment by FCHO in affordable properties for Oldham is going to help us deliver the much-needed family homes the area needs. Crucially they will be located where people want to live, where they are close to transport links and can benefit from existing infrastructure and amenities.
”The announcement also demonstrates we are on track to build at least 600 new properties in the next few years as we partner with experienced developers like Vistry Group to deliver our new homes strategy.”

Matthew Parkes, managing director of Vistry Manchester and Cheshire East, said:
“We’re delighted to be working in partnership with FCHO to bring much needed affordable homes to the area.”

The deal ranks as FCHO’s second-largest in value behind the recent £20 million West Vale development in Coldhurst.
