Drug dealer jailed for harassing teenager and making threats over alleged 'debts'
Brandon Simcox, 20, was jailed for 27 months after admitting to supplying cannabis and harassing a 16-year-old boy with threats over alleged drug debts. Police found cannabis, cash, phones and bank evidence linking him to dealing after the boy’s family raised safeguarding concerns in August 2024.
A drug dealer has been jailed after pleading guilty to possession and harassment offences - which saw him repeatedly threaten and demand money from a teenage boy.
Brandon Simcox (27/07/04), of no fixed abode, was sentenced to 27 months imprisonment on Friday (17 April), after earlier pleading guilty to being concerned in the supply of cannabis, possession with intent to supply cannabis, harassment, and communications offences.
The investigation began when concerns were raised that Simcox was exploiting the boy - then aged 16 - to deal drugs for him, while also demanding money from him due to alleged ‘debts’.
This saw Simcox repeatedly message the boy with various threats to attack him and his family, leaving him fearful and worried for his safety. A relative of the boy was also targeted by the harassment.
After individuals known to the boy raised their worries with local safeguarding teams in August 2024, officers arrested Simcox, conducting a search at his property.
During the search, several bags of cannabis were located, in addition to weighing scales and a sum of cash. Three phones were recovered and which showed evidence as being used as drug lines.
Bank transactions also showed money being sent to his account by repeat, regular individuals believed to be consumers of class B drugs.
Simcox answered ‘no comment’ during his subsequent interviews, but later pleaded guilty to his offences.
DC Grace Ellcock, from GMP’s Trafford district, said: “Simcox repeatedly harassed and threatened a boy, who became fearful for his own safety, while maintaining a grip on him by demanding alleged debts.
“However, even if money was paid, Simcox would still demand further cash from his victim. He repeatedly gained his money by illicit means and I am glad he is now behind bars.
“If anyone within the Trafford area has any concerns about drug-dealing or any other form of criminality, I would urge them to get in touch with us, either directly, or anonymously.”
