Dispersal order issued in Failsworth after reports of anti social behaviour
Greater Manchester Police imposed a Section 35 dispersal order covering Partington Street and surrounding roads in Failsworth after repeated anti-social behaviour, including criminal damage, by groups of youths on 10 April. Officers can now order people to leave the area and warn further arrests and partnership interventions will follow.

Police bring in dispersal order after anti social behaviour concerns in Failsworth
Greater Manchester Police confirmed a section 35 dispersal order is now active in a defined area of Failsworth, Oldham. The decision follows incidents reported on Friday 10 April and in recent weeks involving groups of young people.
Officers said the behaviour included reports of criminal damage at a local business and actions causing concern among residents. The order gives police powers to require individuals to leave the area within the specified time period.
The restricted zone covers the Partington Street area, including Lord Lane between Ashton Road West and Brierley Avenue, Brierley Avenue between Lord Lane and Ashton Road East, and Ashton Road East linking back towards Ashton Road West.
Inspector Matthew Catlow of GMP Oldham said the order provides officers with additional powers to respond to issues in the area. He said anti social behaviour would not be tolerated and that police would take action where incidents are reported, including arrests and preventative work with partner organisations.
Police have urged anyone with information about criminal activity or anti social behaviour to contact them via 101 or through their online reporting tools. Emergency incidents should be reported via 999. Anonymous reports can also be made through Crimestoppers.
