Detectives secure murder charge following stabbing in Wythenshawe

Scott Thomson, aged 57, has been charged with murder following the stabbing death of 47-year-old James Murray on Whitburn Road in Wythenshawe on 4 December 2024. Thomson has been remanded into custody and will appear at Stockport Magistrates. A 64-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released on bail. Police are not seeking further suspects but continue to appeal for information, including CCTV, dashcam, or phone footage.

Wythenshawe Man Charged in Fatal Stabbing on Whitburn Road

Scott Thomson, 57, of Skye Walk in Wythenshawe has been charged with the murder of 47-year-old James Murray, who was stabbed to death on Whitburn Road on December 4, 2024. Thomson has been remanded into custody and will appear at Stockport Magistrates Court tomorrow, December 9.

A 64-year-old woman who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released on bail. Greater Manchester Police confirmed they are not seeking any additional suspects in connection with the murder.
