Detectives make an arrest after investigating a series of burglaries in Wigan

Teen Arrested in Connection with Wigan Burglary Spree

A 17-year-old boy is in custody after detectives linked him to a string of burglaries that terrorized Ince and Whelley neighborhoods over five months. The arrest follows an intensive investigation by Greater Manchester Police’s Wigan Neighbourhood Crime Team into break-ins reported between July and December 2024.

Detectives spent months reviewing witness statements and analyzing extensive CCTV footage to identify the suspect. The teenager was arrested on suspicion of burglary and remains in custody for questioning as the investigation continues.
