Detectives appeal for key information as they continue to seek justice for the families of Cheriff and Junior on the fifth anniversary of their murder

Detectives are appealing for witnesses five years after the murders of Cheriff Tall and Abayome (Junior) Ajose in Moss Side. The investigation remains active, with a £50,000 reward for information leading to the killer's conviction. Authorities believe key witnesses from the 300-400 people present that night could provide crucial evidence, despite reluctance to come forward. The suspect is believed to be from Birmingham, not Moss Side.

Five years after Cheriff Tall and Abayome “Junior” Ajose were gunned down in a Moss Side car park, Greater Manchester Police renewed their appeal for witnesses to help solve the double murder that claimed the lives of the 21-year-old and 36-year-old in the early hours of June 21, 2020.

Detectives specifically want to trace anyone who saw a man wearing a black Icon cap with a white logo and a white Nike Air T-shirt bearing a small black logo on the left chest during the incident at the Caythorpe Street car park, where an estimated 300-400 people had gathered for a party.

The Major Incident Team has executed multiple warrants, questioned numerous suspects, and seized mobile phones for forensic analysis since the killings, but investigators maintain that crucial answers remain within the community. A £50,000 reward stands for information leading to the conviction of the killer, whom police believe traveled from Birmingham to commit the murders.

“This year marks five years since Cheriff and Junior went out to a party but sadly, never returned home to their loved ones,” said Detective Chief Inspector Neil Higginson. “There were hundreds of people in the car park that night and we are sure that there are people who saw the incident, even if it was just part of it. However, there has been a reluctance for witnesses to come forward with information.”
