Delph Co-op relaunches following major programme of improvements
The Delph Co-op has relaunched after a six-week transformation, featuring fresh and healthy produce, meal deals, vegan options, and British-sourced meat. The store supports 12 local jobs, offers online delivery, and includes a soft plastic recycling unit.
Delph’s King Street welcomed back its transformed Co-op store this morning after a six-week refit that has secured 12 local jobs and extended daily trading hours to 7am-10pm.
The relaunched outlet places fresh, healthy and chilled produce at the heart of its offer, backed by bakery counters, food-to-go ranges, meal deals and award-winning wines. Every own-brand pie, sandwich and ready meal uses 100% British meat, reflecting the society’s pledge to back UK farmers, while vegan and plant-based lines sit alongside Fairtrade staples.
Shoppers can now collect Amazon parcels, withdraw cash from an in-store ATM and order groceries online for rapid home delivery via Deliveroo or the retailer’s own shop.coop.co.uk platform. A soft-plastic recycling unit also accepts crisp packets, bread bags, pet-food pouches and other flexible packaging that councils cannot collect.
Store manager Michael Ogden said: “The whole team is delighted to have had the opportunity to invest in Delph - the store has been totally transformed and has a great new look. We pride ourselves on being able to deliver the quality, choice, added services and value, which can be enjoyed by everyone. We are looking forward to welcoming our members and customers back into their Co-op, we’re here to conveniently serve and support our community.”
Membership perks include exclusive price cuts on everyday essentials and personalised offers through the Co-op app, reinforcing the 180-year-old member-owned mutual’s model of community control.
