A 41-year-old man, Daniel Eastmond, has been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life following an incident on Crompton Street in Oldham in November 2024. No one was injured in the incident. He has been remanded in custody and will appear in court today.

Oldham man faces firearms charges after November street incident

Daniel Eastmond appeared in Tameside Magistrates Court Friday after being charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life in connection with a gun discharge on Crompton Street last month.

The 41-year-old Lime Green Road resident was remanded in custody following the November 15 incident, which occurred in Oldham and resulted in no injuries.

Greater Manchester Police’s Serious Organised Crime Group secured the charge after a month-long investigation into the firearms discharge. “We have managed to secure a charge against a man for an incident that happened just over a month ago - our investigation has been meticulous and is still ongoing,” Detective Inspector Richard Castley said.

The detective added that proactive police efforts are helping prevent harm and protect communities from violence, while acknowledging that firearm incidents, though typically targeted, cause significant public fear and distress.
