Art Trail success story lights up Uppermill
The Saddleworth Winter Art Trail was a success at the Uppermill Methodist Centre, showcasing a variety of arts and crafts. The event, supported by the Roger Tanner Trust, will return in May 2025 with plans to expand.
The Uppermill Methodist Centre glowed with creative energy as the Saddleworth Winter Art Trail showcased an impressive collection of local artistic talent last weekend. Visitors browsed through paintings spanning fine art to abstract styles, alongside pottery, hand-crafted silk scarves, sketches and drawings, all available as unique holiday gifts.
The exhibition featured artists from the Saddleworth Art Trail, who first opened their homes and studios to the public last May when 21 local artists displayed their work across village venues. Local shops, pubs and restaurants served as galleries for the community-supported event, with most locations offering complete accessibility.
A generous donation from the Roger Tanner Trust, inspired by the May exhibition’s success, funded this winter showcase. The art trail returns next year, with organizers planning an expanded event for the May bank holiday weekend of May 3-5, 2025.
