Police hunt £400 coat thieves after Boxing Day heist in Bury
A child folded a designer coat over a security barrier and walked out of a Union Street shop with £400 worth of stolen goods at 2:25 pm on 26 December, detectives revealed today. The youngster, who was part of a larger group, triggered the alarm after brazenly clearing the sensor gates with the concealed merchandise.
Greater Manchester Police have issued CCTV images of two adults they believe hold vital clues to the Boxing Day theft. Investigators say the pair were captured on camera moments before the child made off with the haul and may have acted as look-outs or accomplices.
Anyone who recognises the individuals or saw the group fleeing towards Bury town centre is urged to call 101 or visit gmp.police.uk, quoting log 852 of 27/12/24. Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
