A murder investigation is underway after the death of a female in Blackley
A woman was found dead on Broadmoss Drive, Blackley on 19 April 2026, and a 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder. Police say there is no wider public risk while the Major Incident Team continues its investigation.
Shortly before 6pm on Sunday 19 April 2026, police were called to a disturbance on Broadmoss Drive, Blackley.
Officers swiftly attended and upon arrival, a woman was sadly found deceased at the scene.
A man, aged 31, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody for questioning.
The victims family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
A scene remains in place and the investigation is ongoing.
Detective Chief Inspector Anna Barker of the Major Incident Team said: “Our thoughts, first and foremost, remain with the victims family as they grieve their loved one.
“We have a man in custody and detectives are questioning him as we try to establish the full circumstances that led to this tragic death.
“We understand this incident may cause concern amongst the community, but we believe there is no wider risk to the public.
“As we continue to conduct a thorough investigation, you will see an increased police presence in the area, and I encourage anyone in the community to please speak with them and raise any concerns or queries you may have.”
