A month of train disruption ahead for two Greater Manchester boroughs

A 30-day station closure from August 30 to September 28 will disrupt train services between Stalybridge and Deighton due to major works at Huddersfield Station as part of the Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU). No trains will stop at Mossley in Tameside or Greenfield in Oldham during this period, with rail replacement services in place. The upgrades include platform extensions, track and signalling improvements, and safety enhancements at Greenfield and Mossley stations, along with the reconstruction of Oldham Road Bridge.
