£20,000 Cannabis Seized in Derker: Three Arrested as Operation Vulcan Intensifies
Oldham Chronicle - July 19, 2024
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have seized suspected cannabis with an estimated street value of £20,000 following a proactive stop in Derker.
The seizure was made at around 1:50 p.m. on Friday, July 19, after officers on routine patrol noticed a 17-year-old male riding a bicycle erratically near the junction of Ripponden Road and Abbey Hills Road.
A brief foot-chase ensued before the youth was detained. A search of his rucksack revealed multiple vacuum-packed bags of what is believed to be herbal cannabis.
Subsequent searches of a nearby property—allegedly linked to the suspect—uncovered further quantities of the same substance, along with £1,000 in cash and several mobile phones.
Three arrests:
- A 38-year-old man
- A 35-year-old woman
- A 17-year-old male (released under investigation)
All three individuals have been bailed pending further enquiries.
