Oldham's Alexandra Park: Perfect Venue for Royal Garden Party
Alexandra Park in Oldham has been proposed as the venue for a royal garden party with Prince William in July 2028 to celebrate the 50th birthday of Louise Joy Brown, the world's first IVF baby born in Oldham. Frank Rothwell, Oldham Athletic owner and recent OBE recipient, made the invitation during his visit to Windsor Castle. The park features a boating lake, greenhouse, fountain, pavilion, and extensive green spaces. It previously hosted Queen Elizabeth for a garden party in 1992 to celebrate Metrolink's opening and was named after King Edward VII's marriage to Alexandra of Denmark.
