Oldham Council has awarded twenty-five grants totalling £266,000 to local businesses for shop front improvements in the town centre. The Shop Front Improvement Grant Scheme is funded by the Greater Manchester Combined Authority's Local Growth and Place Flexible Grants Programme. Targeted areas for these upgrades include Union Street, Yorkshire Street, Henshaw Street, and George Street. Recipients of the funding include twenty-three named entities such as Bargains 4 Less, Pennine Mencap, and Morris Dental.
