Yoga and creative writing course starts in Saddleworth March 2026

Saddleworth residents can now combine yoga and creative writing in a new £58 four-week course starting March 21.

A new creative course is coming to Saddleworth that combines yoga with creative writing, starting Saturday, March 21. The four-week program, called 'Yoga with Creative Writing,' costs £58 for the full series and will run for 60 minutes each week.

The course is being led by John L. Matthews from the First Ten Pages Writing School and Tasmin Humphrey from Nurture Yoga. Matthews, who has written six books and produced 11 films, said he discovered that the relaxed state before yoga sessions is perfect for creativity-calm, focused, and without pressure.

Humphrey explained that some of their existing yoga clients already work in creative industries, including two who are currently writing novels. The course is open to everyone, regardless of writing or yoga experience, and covers character development, world-building, plot, and scene structure.

Each session will blend gentle yoga movements with guided writing exercises in a supportive environment. Participants must commit to all four sessions to maintain continuity. Private one-to-one sessions are available separately for those wanting more individual attention.

For more information or to book a place, contact John Matthews at [email protected] or 07855 375615, or Tasmin Humphrey at [email protected] or 07880 982415. The course offers Saddleworth residents an affordable way to explore creativity through movement and writing.
