Oldham Ticket Office Hours and Locations 2026
Oldham's travel ticket counter has quietly moved to the doorway of Spindles on George Street, and anyone who still walked to Piccadilly for a new igo card now faces a trip to Shudehill instead after that office shut for good. The shift leaves Sunday shoppers in Ashton, Stockport and Oldham with nowhere local to pick up or renew concessionary passes, because every neighbourhood counter locks its shutters for the day.
Altrincham is the only centre in Greater Manchester still selling tickets on Sundays and bank holidays, open 9.20 am to 4.50 pm with a 40-minute lunch break. Everywhere else follows the same six-day pattern: 8.30 am to 4 pm, closed 1.15 pm to 2 pm, and no holiday refunds are handled at any counter.
Staff at the kiosks can still load a smart card, print a Metrolink season, or book a Yelloways coach seat, but anyone hoping to sort a cancelled package break will be sent away empty-handed. The change is hardest for parents whose children's Our Pass expires at the weekend and for pensioners who rely on the free ENCTS badge to reach hospital appointments on a Sunday.
With Piccadilly gone, the nearest full-service desk is Shudehill, a walk or free bus ride up Corporation Street. The council has not said whether pop-up sessions will fill the gap in Oldham, so residents who cannot travel may have to switch online or wait until Monday.
