These three pubs are named in the new edition CAMRA Manchester guidebook

Three Oldham pubs have been recognised in a major CAMRA guide, highlighting the town's quality beer scene despite pub closures.

Three Oldham pubs have been named in the latest edition of CAMRA's 'Manchester's Best Beer, Pubs, and Bars' guidebook, putting the town on the map for beer enthusiasts across Greater Manchester.

The Ashton Arms, The Fox and Pine, and Royton Mill Tap are the only Oldham venues to make the cut in the second edition of the guide, which features more than 200 pubs from across the ten boroughs.

The Fox and Pine, a multiple CAMRA award winner, has been described as 'a sensational beer destination' that makes the trip to Oldham worthwhile on its own, while The Ashton Arms is praised as an 'endearingly likeable, unfussy boozer'.

Royton Mill Tap has been recognised for its focus on local breweries, including Wakey Wakey and Trail Brew Co, showing Oldham's growing craft beer scene despite the town being described as 'one of the hardest hit areas in terms of pub closures'.

The guide, written by Manchester-based beer writer Matthew Curtis, includes 50 new pubs and expanded coverage of areas like Stockport, Wigan and Altrincham, with the second edition launching on April 2.
