Oldham street closure for electrical works March 2026
Theatre Street closes March 17 for two weeks due to electrical works, with traffic diverted via Horsedge and Rock Streets.
Theatre Street in Oldham town centre will be closed to all vehicles for two weeks starting March 17 as National Grid carries out essential electrical works.
The closure affects the section between Hopkin Street and Horsedge Street and will remain in force until the upgrade is complete or March 31 whichever comes first.
Local businesses and residents will need to plan alternative routes as traffic is being diverted via Horsedge Street and Rock Street.
The works are part of ongoing infrastructure improvements across the borough though exact details of what's being upgraded haven't been shared.
Councillor. Amanda Chadderton said: 'We know these closures cause disruption but they're necessary for keeping our electrical network safe and reliable.
