New Starbucks drive-through opens in Chadderton Tesco car park
A new Starbucks drive-through has opened in the Tesco car park on Chadderton Way, creating 15 jobs and giving residents another coffee option on the go. The store opened last Friday, February 13, in a previously underused section of the supermarket's parking area.
The coffee giant built the drive-through alongside an existing Greggs, with the two stores sharing 41 dedicated parking spaces. This is now the third Starbucks drive-through in Oldham, joining locations at Elk Mill Retail Park and Manchester Road.
Early visitors have praised the bright, airy interior and friendly staff. The Oldham Times stopped by a few days after opening and found customers already leaving positive reviews on Google. Staff also gave a preview of new sweet treats coming soon, including mini Victoria sponge bites and pistachio buns.
The store was granted planning permission last March, with council planners noting it would make use of an 'underutilised' part of the Tesco car park. For Chadderton residents, it means more convenient food and drink options without having to travel further into town.
