Oldham charity hosts first Ladies Day fundraiser at Billingtons Ballroom

Oldham women can dress up for a good cause at Pennine Mencap's first Ladies Day fundraiser on May 16.

Oldham's Pennine Mencap is hosting its first Ladies Day fundraiser at Billingtons Ballroom on May 16, offering local women a chance to dress up and support a vital cause. The afternoon event, running from 2pm to 6pm, costs £25 per ticket and includes traditional afternoon tea, stalls selling handmade goods, and live entertainment featuring a cello performance.

The charity, which supports neurodivergent adults across Greater Manchester, says the event will help sustain its services while giving local women a chance to wear those dresses and fascinators they rarely get to use. 'It's even better when a special get-together takes place in support of a good cause,' a spokesperson said, noting the event is styled after traditional race day celebrations.

Guests can browse stalls offering unique handmade items while enjoying the afternoon tea service. The event aims to combine socialising with fundraising, allowing attendees to catch up with friends while contributing to support for vulnerable disabled adults in the community. Tickets are available through the Pennine Mencap website.
