Five Oldham men charged in drugs raids across borough
Five men from Oldham have been charged with supplying heroin and crack cocaine after police raids across the borough. The arrests came during County Lines Intensification Week, a national crackdown on drug gangs that exploit vulnerable people, particularly children.
Greater Manchester Police executed early morning warrants at both residential and business properties in Oldham. At one address, a suspect tried to flee through the back but was caught by officers surrounding the property. Police seized drugs, a mobile phone, and other evidence during the raids.
The five men charged are all aged 23-24 and from different parts of. Oldham: Rakib Miah from Davies Street, Muhammad Adil from Eden Street, Mohammed Shaffial Aloom from Mitchell Street, Juher Kamaly from Broadway in Chadderton, and Mohammed Adil Rehan from Redgrave Street in Waterhead.
During the week-long operation, police conducted 30 warrants across Greater Manchester, resulting in 40 arrests and the closure of 20 active drug lines. Officers seized over £34,000 in cash, drugs, weapons, mobile phones, electric bikes, designer goods, and high-value electronics.
Detective Inspector John Schofield said the raids were successful due to community intelligence and emphasized that drug gangs targeting children are child abusers under the Modern Slavery Act. He urged residents to report concerns to police or Crimestoppers anonymously.
