Oldham care home residents share stories at national event
Residents from Birchwood Nursing Home in Oldham have taken their voices to a national stage, sharing powerful stories about mental health and wellbeing at Turning Point's My Voice event in Wakefield.
The event brought together people from across Turning Point's services-including those with substance use issues, learning disabilities, and mental health challenges-to discuss how communities can better support vulnerable individuals.

Service Manager Lisa Endley praised the residents for their advocacy, noting they spoke 'so passionately about how people with mental health issues deserve to have their views heard' and hoped their stories would inspire others.
The gathering explored how social and economic changes affect those Turning Point supports, with National Head of Involvement Matt Miles emphasising that 'we can only provide the best support possible for people if we work in real partnership with them.
