Popular cafe Nonnas opens in Greenfield, Oldham

Popular Stalybridge coffee shop Nonnas opens in Greenfield this weekend, bringing its 4.9-star formula to Saddleworth.

A popular coffee shop from Stalybridge is bringing its winning formula to Greenfield this weekend, opening in the former Pick Me Up Co building on Chew Valley Road. Nonnas, which has built a loyal following across the border with its 4.9-star Google rating, will launch with a soft opening on Sunday, March 8, before opening permanently on Wednesday, March 11.

Owner Anthony Zazzarino has spent months renovating the two-storey building, promising to bring something 'completely unique' to Saddleworth while maintaining the warm, intimate atmosphere that made his original venue a hit. The cafe will serve coffee, deli foods, cakes, and eventually wine, beer, and cocktails-though alcohol won't be available until the end of April.

The new venue will operate six days a week, closed Mondays and Tuesdays, with opening hours from 8:30am to 3:30pm Wednesday to Saturday, and 10am to 2pm on Sundays. Zazzarino, who announced the expansion at the end of last year, said he's 'forever grateful' for the support that's made his dream possible and is excited to become part of another community.

Local residents will now have a new spot for coffee, light bites, and eventually evening drinks, potentially bringing more foot traffic to Chew Valley Road. The cafe's arrival fills the space left vacant when Pick Me Up Co moved to Delph earlier this year, giving the building a new lease of life in the heart of Greenfield.
