New tearoom opens at Swan Inn pub in Dobcross, Oldham

A new tearoom has opened upstairs at the Swan Inn in Dobcross, bringing traditional afternoon tea to the heart of Saddleworth. Dob X Tea launched this week, offering locals a calm space for proper conversation with views across the village and surrounding hills. The venture comes from the team behind the Swan Inn, which the Welby family took over last August.

The tearoom's menu keeps things classic and affordable, with sausage rolls at £2 and finger sandwiches for £4.95. Scones with jam and clotted cream cost £3.50, while tea cakes, crumpets, and bacon sandwiches round out the offerings. The pub has hinted more breakfast options are coming soon.

This opening couldn't be better timed for Mother's Day, with the Swan Inn offering a special afternoon tea with prosecco for £32.50 per person on March 15. The package includes sandwiches, cake, scones, and a pot of tea-perfect for treating mum without breaking the bank.

The Swan Inn, already known for its pub classics and specials in the kitchen downstairs, now gives Dobcross residents two distinct dining experiences under one roof. The tearoom's location in the old square, where the pub filmed scenes for Yanks, adds a touch of local history to your cuppa.
