Marco Pierre White praises Oldham ice cream business

Saddleworth's Grandpa Greene's ice cream gets celebrity chef's seal of approval after Old Trafford tasting.

Marco Pierre White, one of Britain's most famous chefs, has given his seal of approval to Grandpa Greene's Luxury Ice Cream after trying their products at Old Trafford during the Manchester United versus Crystal Palace match on March 1.

The Saddleworth-based ice cream maker shared that they 'had the pleasure' of inviting the celebrity chef to sample their flavours, and when asked to describe the ice cream in a few words, Pierre. White simply said: 'I only need two words: deliciously good.

The chef particularly praised the 'classic Old Fashioned White' flavour, which Grandpa Greene's says 'really celebrates the quality of the milk' that forms the base of all their products.

Grandpa Greene's operates from two locations in Saddleworth-a parlour and cafe bar on Ward Lane in Diggle, and a bistro and parlour at King George V Park in Uppermill-serving their famous ice cream alongside other treats.

The business described the endorsement as making their 'hard work worthwhile' and thanked Pierre White for taking the time to try their products, with social media users congratulating them on the 'amazing' recognition.
