Man seriously injured in Oldham car crash on Fairbottom Street

Pedestrian seriously injured in Oldham town centre collision, police investigations ongoing.

A man suffered serious injuries after being hit by a vehicle on Fairbottom Street in Oldham town centre on Saturday night. Emergency services rushed to the scene just before 9pm following reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian.

The injured man was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Greater Manchester Police confirmed they were called to Fairbottom Street at around 8.50pm on March 7, 2026, and that enquiries into the incident remain ongoing.

Part of nearby Yorkshire Street was cordoned off as police investigations began. Fairbottom Street runs off Yorkshire Street in the heart of Oldham's town centre, an area busy with shops and restaurants.

No arrests have been made in connection with the collision. Police have not released the age of the injured man or any further details about the circumstances of the crash.
