Police have reopened Snipe Clough Nature Reserve after a man's body was found there, with no suspicious circumstances suspected.

Police have confirmed that a man was found dead near Snipe Clough Nature Reserve in Oldham on Monday morning, with the area now reopened to the public.

Officers were called to Thatcher Street at around 9.15am on February 23 following concerns for a man's welfare. The street backs onto the popular nature reserve, which connects to Alexandra Park.

A police spokesperson confirmed the man was found dead at the scene, with no suspicious circumstances believed to be involved. The area was cordoned off while emergency services attended but has since been cleared.

The case has been passed to the coroner for further investigation. Snipe Clough Nature Reserve is a well-used walking route and beauty spot that many local residents use for recreation and exercise.
