New interior design showroom opening in Greenfield, Oldham
A new interior design showroom is opening in Greenfield this weekend, bringing fresh life to a building that's been empty for nearly two years. My Secret House, an Oldham-based design brand, will launch its boutique and studio in the former Salon Beauty Spa on Chew Valley Road on Saturday, April 25.
The beauty spa closed in January 2023 after 18 years under the Newall family's ownership. Since then, the building has stood vacant, but now Deborah Hill's interior design business has spent three years transforming the space. The work included extending upwards with a roof extension and digging downwards to underpin the former Co-op building.
Hill, who founded My Secret House in 2018, brings more than three decades of design experience to the project. Her work has appeared in major publications including Hello Magazine, OK!, Lancashire Life, and several national newspapers. The business has sourced products from across the UK and Europe, creating bespoke items alongside curated collections.
The showroom promises a hands-on experience where customers can touch and feel materials ranging from door handles to fabrics and wallpapers. Opening day hours run from 10am to 4pm, with the business describing itself as 'couldn't be more excited' about the launch. The new venture adds another retail option to Greenfield village and could bring more visitors to the area.
