Home Bargains lorry crash closes Ripponden Road near Denshaw

A Home Bargains delivery lorry ended up half on the road and half in a field on Ripponden Road near Denshaw this morning, causing temporary traffic chaos for commuters. The crash happened on the A672 between Denshaw and Newhey, close to the M62 junction, with the vehicle's cab sticking out into the carriageway while the trailer sat in the adjacent field.

Police and recovery vehicles rushed to the scene, with officers blocking the road to passing traffic while they worked to secure the area. Photos from the incident show the lorry's precarious position, with emergency services vehicles surrounding it and officers directing traffic away from the closure.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed no one was injured in the crash, though the lorry did cause damage to nearby walls and pavement. The road was closed for several hours while recovery teams worked to remove the vehicle, but according to AA Traffic maps, it has since been reopened to traffic.
