BRIT Award-winning artist Finlay Quaye to play Whittles in Oldham

BRIT Award winner Finlay Quaye brings nineties nostalgia to Oldham this August for just £14.99.

Whittles in Oldham is bringing a genuine nineties legend to town this summer with BRIT Award winner Finlay Quaye set to perform on August 27. The venue, which has been building momentum with big-name acts, has landed the reggae and trip-hop pioneer for what promises to be a memorable night of music.

Quaye, who won the 1998 BRIT Award for Best Male Solo Artist and the 1997 Mobo Award for best reggae act, shot to fame with his debut album 'Maverick a Strike' which went double platinum in the UK. His hit 'Sunday Shining' remains a staple of nineties playlists, sampling Bob Marley's 'Sun Is Shining' to create that unmistakable summer sound.

The Oldham gig is part of a mini-tour that includes stops in Wrexham, Liverpool and Northenden, suggesting the venue is punching above its weight in attracting major talent. Tickets are priced at £14.99 and available through Skiddle, with a 'very special guest' support act still to be announced.

This isn't Whittles' first rodeo with big acts-they've recently hosted Pete Doherty and Tom Meighan, and held a sell-out event celebrating the venue's history as Tokyo Project nightclub. The Broken Wing Club promoters are clearly betting on Oldham's appetite for quality live music, with the event description promising 'even bigger names already lining up for 2026'.
