Beloved Saddleworth restaurant site up for rent after closure
The site of Dinnerstone, a beloved restaurant that served Uppermill for two decades, is now available to rent after its sudden closure earlier this year. The popular eatery, which ranked third among all Oldham restaurants on TripAdvisor, shut its doors in January when owner Charles Brierley described it as a 'difficult decision' made 'with sadness'.
The stone-built property on High Street, which Dinnerstone called home for 20 years, has been put on the market by property company Fleurets with a guide rent of £72,000 per year. The building has been extensively refurbished to provide modern restaurant accommodation, featuring an open-plan bar and dining area with a double-height space that creates a light and welcoming atmosphere.
The property offers approximately 126 covers across two floors, including a private dining room on the first floor, along with a fully fitted catering kitchen, service bar, and basement cellar. Tim Martin, Divisional Director at Fleurets North West, said the site 'traded successfully for two decades, building a strong reputation as a modern British restaurant, creating a strong platform for its successor'.
The closure left many customers devastated, but the high-quality, ready-to-trade restaurant in one of Greater Manchester's most desirable village locations could soon welcome a new hospitality concept. Meanwhile, Mr Brierley continues to operate The White Hart at Lygate, which remains one of Oldham's most popular and highly-rated places to eat.
