£4.5m community funding boost for Oldham projects

£4.5m investment will upgrade community spaces across Oldham, making them more accessible and inclusive for residents.

More than £4.5 million in capital funding has been awarded to community organisations across Oldham, supporting everything from building upgrades to park improvements and sports facility renovations.

The money comes from the Community Regeneration Partnership Capital Grants and will help dozens of local groups make their spaces more accessible, safer and more inclusive for residents.

Leader of Oldham Council Arooj Shah announced the successful projects at an awards event at Chadderton Town Hall on Thursday, March 26, where community groups gathered to celebrate the investment.

The funding will touch nearly every corner of the borough, with projects ranging from church hall refurbishments to green space improvements and community centre upgrades.

Shah described the organisations as 'the backbone of our borough' and said the investment would help them grow, reach more residents and continue making a difference where it matters most.
