Chadderton Town Hall Wedding Fair 2026 in Oldham
Chadderton Town Hall will host its first wedding fair on Sunday 25 January, giving couples a chance to plan their day without paying the usual venue-hire bill. Anyone who fills in a short feedback form goes into a draw to have their ceremony at the hall free of charge, a prize worth hundreds of pounds.
More than twenty traders, from cake makers to classic-car owners, will set up stalls inside the 1901 building. Alongside them, Springhill Hospice will sell wedding dresses, suits and bridesmaids' gowns donated by local residents; many are unworn and will be priced well below shop tags, with every pound going to the hospice.
Since the council gained a licence to hold weddings here in July 2005, almost 8,000 couples have exchanged vows beneath its oak beams. Registrars will be on site on the 25th to show the grand staircase used for photographs, the Oak Room for larger parties and the smaller Green Room for quieter ceremonies, and to explain how and when to give legal notice.
Doors open at 11 am and close at 3 pm. Entry and parking are free, and the first 100 couples through the door receive a goody bag. To help the council plan numbers, couples are asked to email [email protected] in advance.
