Appeal after man from Georgia dies in Oldham
Police are appealing for help to find the family of a 45-year-old man who died in Chadderton this week. Davit Zoidze, originally from Georgia, was found dead at an address on Hollinwood Avenue on Tuesday, April 14. Greater Manchester Police say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
The force is now trying to trace Mr Zoidze's next of kin-the closest living relative under UK law, which could be a partner, parent, child or sibling. Officers believe he had been living in Oldham but have been unable to locate any family members so far.
Anyone who may know Mr Zoidze's relatives is asked to contact the Police Coroner's Office on 0161 856 8095. The appeal comes as part of standard procedure when someone dies without known family nearby to make arrangements.
This type of appeal is relatively common in Oldham, where police sometimes need public help to trace next of kin for people who have moved to the area from abroad or lost touch with family. The coroner's office handles these sensitive cases with care and confidentiality.
