Saddleworth Peace Group will mark Remembrance with a white poppy gathering in Uppermill on Saturday, November 7 at 11am, the Saddleworth Independent reports. The ceremony takes place in St Chad's Gardens, by the Peace Pole outside Uppermill Library, and a wreath of white poppies will be laid there.

Oldham East and Saddleworth MP Debbie Abrahams and Saddleworth Parish Council chair Cllr Barbara Beeley are due to speak. This year's theme is "decolonising remembrance", with campaigners arguing that all victims of war, civilian and military and of any nationality, should be remembered.
