Uppermill's Lucy Cobb boutique will close its High Street shop for good on Saturday, August 22 after 20 years. The fashion retailer will become an online-only business.

Owner Lucy said the decision follows the changing retail landscape and the growth of online shopping. She highlighted how consumer habits have shifted since the store first opened.

The business will continue to trade online from a local base. Lucy also plans to hold occasional pop-up events in the village in the future.

In a message to customers, Lucy thanked the community for its support over two decades. She paid tribute to past staff, known as the "Cobbettes," for their loyalty and friendship.

Lucy encouraged residents to continue supporting the village's independent shops, saying local shopping is more important than ever for the High Street's future.
