Year 11 students at Oasis Academy Leesbrook returned to school today, Thursday 20 August 2026, to collect their GCSE results. Families and staff joined them for a morning of celebration marking the end of their secondary school journey.

The cohort faced significant disruption to their education because of the pandemic, and the academy said their results represent an important milestone in its continuing improvement journey. It credited the hard work of students, staff and families.

More students achieved grades 7 and above compared with last year, according to the academy. It said this reflects its commitment to supporting young people academically while also building confidence, character and life skills.

Principal Andrea Mitchell said: "Results Day is always a special moment, and it has been fantastic to see our Year 11 students celebrating with their families and teachers today. We are particularly pleased to see an increase in the number of students achieving grades 7 and above, and I want to congratulate every student on their achievements.

"What makes me most proud is seeing how far our young people have come during their time at Leesbrook. Many have faced challenges along the way, but they have shown real resilience and ambition to reach this point."

Students now move on to college, apprenticeships, further training and employment, taking with them the knowledge and confidence developed at Leesbrook.
