A team from Saddleworth estate agent Ryder & Dutton has raised more than £35,000 in memory of a colleague who died of cancer earlier this year.

The group, from Ryder & Dutton and its parent company Northern Estate Agencies Group (NEAG), completed a 196-mile relay challenge over five days. They ran, walked and cycled between 36 branches across Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Derbyshire and Yorkshire.

The relay, named Relay for Sophie, honoured Sophie Knight, who passed away at the age of 42 after living with cancer. It was organised to celebrate her life while supporting charities for people affected by terminal illness.

The team exceeded their original £20,000 fundraising target by more than £15,000. The money will be split equally between St Gemma's Hospice in Leeds and the Ruth Strauss Foundation, which provide care and support for terminally ill people and their families.

Our target was £20,000, so to raise more than £35,000 is an incredible achievement and a fitting tribute to Sophie. Thank you to everyone who took part in the challenge, and to those who supported it and donated so generously."
