Saddleworth councillor seeks fair share of £5.2 million Oldham roads funding
Saddleworth councillor Max Woodvine calls for the area's fair share of Oldham Council's £5.2 million roads funding, with consultation before spending is confirmed.
Oldham Council has been given an extra £5.2 million for highways work by the Department for Transport through the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, but how and where it will be spent has not been settled, Saddleworth Independent reports.
Cllr Max Woodvine, who leads the council's Conservative group and represents Saddleworth South, said the money should be shared out fairly. "I have requested that it be distributed fairly across the borough and that Councillors can review the planned spend before it is confirmed and scheduled," he said.
