Sachets unit destroyed in Greenfield fire
A fire at Sachets cleaning products business in Greenfield caused huge devastation, forcing evacuations and closing Wellington Road, though no one was inside.

The full scale of the damage caused by a large fire at a Greenfield business has been revealed, with the metal unit left buckled and much of it pulled down.
The blaze broke out at Sachets, behind the village's Tesco superstore on Wellington Road, shortly before 8am on Sunday, August 16. A full emergency response was launched, and people living on nearby Knoll Close were evacuated from their homes.
The property made cleaning products, including antiseptic cleaning wipes, baby wipes, gel air fresheners and toilet cistern blocks.
Acrid black smoke billowed from the site as firefighters used an aerial platform to tackle the flames. A shortage of available water meant some is thought to have been taken from the nearby Huddersfield Narrow Canal and River Tame, with tankers later believed to have been brought in by United Utilities.
A foam unit, a command support unit and an incident support unit were also deployed. Police and ambulance crews attended, and a cordon was put in place on Wellington Road. It is believed no one was inside the unit at the time.
More than 24 hours after the fire started, crews were still damping the area down and Wellington Road remained closed, although the supermarket had reopened.
The extent of the destruction became clear once the largely metal unit had buckled in on itself. Much of Sachets had been pulled down, and scorch marks were visible on neighbouring units. It is believed the area will remain closed for some time.
Sachets, whose head office is in the Chadderton area of Oldham, have been approached for comment.
