Royton & Crompton Academy students celebrate GCSE success
Royton & Crompton Academy students celebrated GCSE results, with top performers heading to sixth forms and apprenticeships.

Students at E-ACT Royton & Crompton Academy on Blackshaw Lane collected their GCSE results this week, with many preparing to move on to sixth form colleges across Oldham and Greater Manchester. Others are exploring apprenticeships and alternative routes.
Among the top performers was Julian Madolora, who achieved five Grade 9s including in Biology, Chemistry and Physics, plus two Grade 8s and one Grade 7. He plans to study A-levels at Oldham Sixth Form College.
Oliver Pemberton secured five Grade 9s, including top grades in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics, along with one Grade 8, two Grade 7s and one Grade 6. He will move on to Rochdale Sixth Form College to study Maths, Further Maths and Economics.
Millie Hughes achieved two Grade 9s, five Grade 8s and two Grade 6s. She is planning to continue her studies at Oldham Sixth Form as she works towards her career ambitions.
Julienne Madolora earned five Grade 9s in Biology, Chemistry, English, History and Physics, alongside two Grade 8s and a Grade 7. She will also study A-levels at Oldham Sixth Form College.
Mickey-Lee Wilson-Wright achieved a Grade 9 in Mathematics, two Grade 8s, three Grade 7s and three Grade 6s. He is set to join Oldham Sixth Form College in September.
The results day marked the end of five years of study for the Year 11 cohort, who completed their GCSEs while managing the pressures of preparing for exams.
Executive Headteacher Gemma Cottingham paid tribute to the students. She said: "Today is about celebrating the dedication and effort of our Year 11 students. We are so incredibly proud of the way they have approached their learning and the achievements they have worked so hard for."
She added: "It has been wonderful to celebrate this moment with them, they are an absolute credit to our academy, and we wish them every success as they move on to their next steps."
E-ACT chief executive Tom Campbell also congratulated students, families and staff. He said: "These achievements reflect the hard work of students and the support they have received from staff, families and the wider community. We are proud of their determination and look forward to seeing what they achieve in the future."
