The ORLFC Yeds Supporters Group is bringing back its Stronger Together walk, a 12.5-mile route from Oldham to Rochdale, on Sunday 30 August.

The walk sets off from Oldham RLFC and finishes at the Rochdale ground, with stops along the way at The Railway, The Summit, The Bay Horse and The Flying Horse. It is free to take part, and people can join for the full route, part of it, or simply come along to support the walkers.

This year, all donations will go towards supporting Oldham RLFC, the Ladies Team and the club's pathway. The group has already raised more than £500.

Two years ago, the same walk was held for the same Oldham v Rochdale fixture, with more than 200 supporters taking part and raising over £10,000 for the MND Association.

Jamie Hollingworth, from the Yeds Supporters Group, said the event is about more than just the walk itself.

"For us, this is about much more than simply walking from Boundary Park to Spotland. It's about bringing Oldham supporters together and showing what can be achieved when fans, businesses and the wider community all pull in the same direction," he said.

He also thanked the local businesses backing the event, including JC Thread & Sole, The Thirst Responder, Orion Travel Coaches, GB Vehicle Leasing, iKNOW! and the Fox & Pine.

"Having local businesses and organisations willing to get behind what we're doing means a lot. Their support helps us put the event together and, importantly, means we can concentrate on raising as much money as possible for the causes we're supporting," he said.

Hollingworth said the group is looking forward to the day and hopes for a strong turnout.

"We're really looking forward to Sunday 30th August. Hopefully we can get a great group walking from Boundary Park to Spotland, raise as much as possible and then finish the day together supporting Oldham against Rochdale," he said.

Walk registration is free and available online, with a separate fundraising page for donations.
