Touch Solicitors, an Oldham-based law firm, has raised more than £193,000 for charity through its participation in the national Will Aid campaign. The firm was the highest donating participating firm in the North West during the latest campaign, raising £61,960 for worthy causes.

Since joining the initiative in 2011, Touch Solicitors has volunteered its time each November to prepare basic Wills for clients. Instead of paying usual fees, clients make charitable donations, which are collected and distributed by the scheme. The latest fundraising total of £61,960 brings the firm's overall contribution to £193,143 since it began supporting Will Aid.

Money raised through the campaign is shared between Will Aid's partner charities, which support people across a range of causes in the UK and overseas. The 2025 campaign supported Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, Crisis, NSPCC, SCIAF, Shelter and Trócaire.

Trusha Velji, a director at Touch Solicitors, expressed pride in the milestone. "Supporting such important causes while helping our clients plan for the future makes it especially meaningful," she said. "Will Aid is something the whole team looks forward to each year. It's a real collective effort, and this achievement reflects the time, care and commitment everyone puts in."

"Over the years, it's been hugely rewarding to help so many people put the right plans in place, giving them confidence and peace of mind for the future," she continued. "To know that, alongside this, we've raised funds that will make a genuine difference to people facing difficult circumstances, both here in the UK and around the world, makes it all the more worthwhile."

Will Aid chair Lauren Poole congratulated the firm on its achievement. "Reaching such a fantastic milestone is an inspiration to others. Support like this is vital to the continued success of Will Aid," she said. "It's wonderful to see firms consistently giving their time and expertise, helping clients gain peace of mind while raising essential funds for our partner charities. On behalf of all the charities involved, thank you for your continued dedication and generosity."

The Will Aid campaign, launched in 1988, has raised more than £26 million in charitable donations since its inception. During November each year, participating solicitors prepare professionally written basic Wills in return for suggested donations. The proceeds from these donations are then shared between the partner charities.

Touch Solicitors' ongoing commitment to the Will Aid campaign demonstrates the firm's dedication to both its clients and the wider community in Oldham and the surrounding areas.
